This lovely thing is our new Lhasa Apso puppy called Lola (pronounced ‘law-la’). After finally succumbing to the continuous pleads from my thirteen year old son, we now have our very own house pet and I must say that she is a delight. I had never really gotten the whole family ‘pet thing’, but I have been won over. It took a lot of persuading and a five month wait, she has been worth it.
I find that one of the benefits of having Lola with us is already becoming a positive focal point for the children and I. Either because of her play antics or her excitable nature, she adds a dimension to home life that really makes it an interesting place to be.
Pet dogs apparently can be a very positive influence for homes where there are children according to research from the University of Cambridge which concludes that homes with dog pets in particular, have lower levels of sibling conflict and greater owner satisfaction compare with other types of pets.
I’d love to hear from you about your own pets and what difference they have made to your home and/or family.
Lola says ‘hello’😊
